Use a resistor if you need to connect a 12 volt LED to a BooBox running at 24 volts.

Most LED lights are designed to run at 12 volts. If your BooBox is running at 24 volts, you usually have to use a relay and separate power supply if you want to control 12 volt LEDs. Using a resistor, you can connect these LED lights directly to the solid-state outputs of a BooBox and forget about the extra power supply.

Important!
You must choose the resistor based on the current draw of your LED, and you must use one resistor per LED. See the list below for some of the common lights.

100 Ohm 5 Watt Resistor
For LEDs that draw 120mA at 12 volts

150 ohm 2 Watt Resistor
For LEDs that draw about 80mA at 12 volts
