Triggering Gemmy or Spirit Props with a FrightProps PIR
IF YOUR BUDGET PROP HAS A "TRY ME" FEATURE
This information applies to newer style budget props that have a "Try Me" feature. Locate the prop's circuit board and look for the word "TRYME" near a pin on the board (as seen in the pictures below).
IF YOUR PROP DOES NOT HAVE A "TRY ME" FEATURE
The key is to find two wires on the prop that when touched together activate it. Sometimes that can be the two wires that go to the built-in sensor, but that doesn't always work. If the prop has a step mat then simply use the two wires that go to it.
Once you find that you can hook up the green and white wires of the PIR to the two wires your found instead of the "TRYME" locations shown in the diagrams.
INSTALLING AND POWERING THE PIR
First try installing the PIR as shown in this diagram. If this does not work it is because sometimes the budget prop does not supply enough power for the PIR. In that case you will have to supply power to the PIR using a separate power supply (12V 1AMP) as shown in the second diagram.
