Large motion platform movement limitations
All of the FrightProps Motion Platforms are designed to move up & down as well as tilt to the left & right.. Some sizes also allow forward & backward tilt.
Once the motion platform goes beyond a certain size (about > 5' x 5') the forward & backward tilt is not possible. This is because small platforms only require four air bags (one on each corner) . Once the platform design goes beyond four air bags we lose the ability to tilt forward & backward. The diagrams provide a simplified explanation for this limitation.
We find that up & down movement only is the best choice overall for a safer, more maintenance free solution. Elevator type simulators should always go only up & down only because that's how elevators move in real life!
