Activating a FLASH! Cracker from a controller or relay |
Activating with an AC outlet
If you are using a controller that has 110v AC outlet on it you can simply plug in the FLASH! Cracker and leave its power switch to ON. The controller will simply turn the FLASH! Cracker ON and OFF by activating the AC outlet. Our PicoBoo AC, PicoFX, and BooBox Flex with AC Outlet Accessories will all operate the FLASH! Cracker this way.

Activating with relays
If you are using a controller or relay that does not have 110v AC outlets on it you will need to tap into the AC power cable to activate as shown in the image. The controller will turn the FLASH! Cracker ON and OFF by contacting the two wires. Our PicoBoo JR, PicoBoo, BooBox Flex with Relay Accessories, and Wireless Remotes will all operate the FLASH! Cracker this way.
It is very important that you tap into the AC power cable as shown. If you tap into any other part of the cable assembly you risk overheating the FLASH! Cracker.

If your FLASH! Cracker has a black cord with the switch directly on the plug then you will need to wire as such:
