The picoBoo refuses to record ambient sounds.
- Make sure it is not in write protect mode, try recording some animation on the relays, if you can do that then it's not write-protected, if you can't, toggle the write protect again.
- Make sure your input is set to normally open and any triggers are disconnected before you start recording audio, the unit could be waiting for a PIR sensor to warm up if it's set to normally-closed.
- To record the audio make sure you have an audio cable plugged in to the line-in jack. Then hold the REC button and press 1 to record the new ambient sound, you'll have to re-record your scare sound unless this ambient sound is shorter than the previous one.
I can't get the picoBoo to erase my previous animation.
- Simply press REC and record new animation by pressing 1 and 2.
If this does not work then follow the troubleshooting section in your manual (last page).
Do you have to record sound into the picoBoo each time you
program new animation?
- The sound does not have to be recorded each time. It will be saved.
The power supply I got with my picoBoo says 9v on it.
Isn't it supposed to be 12v?
- The power supplies say 9v on them but they actually output 12v.
If you hook a voltage meter up to them you will see this to be the case.
Can I use 110v AC devices such as solenoids and lights with the picoBoo?
- YES! All picoBoo models can control both DC and AC devices.
The picoBoo F105 has 110v AC sockets right on it. Just plug your device in.
The picoBoo F103 and F104 can control 110v AC devices but you must modify your device's power cable.
Click here for information on how to do that.
